Joy and Alec… where do I even begin? Well, to state the obvious, they’re goofy and fun. And their wedding was chock full of pizazz. I shall make a list of all of the cool things about their day.

Let’s see, there was the kazoo fanfare that erupted during the ceremony after Joy and Alec’s first kiss as a married couple.

Then they also made a large banner similar to a half-time football player banner that read, “JUST MARRIED” for them to run through after getting back to the reception from the ceremony site. It was completely hysterical.

For table centerpieces they used children’s board games. The tables were covered in white butcher paper that Joy spray-painted through lace to make the paper look lacy. I used one of those tables and an extra “lace” tablecloth as a backdrop for some of the photos… I think it turned out well!

Then there was the cake. Joy and Alec are not big fans of cake, so it wasn’t that important to them. They found a craigslist ad by a person fresh from culinary school who said she’d make a three-layer cake that would serve 100 guests for $120. It looked absolutely horrid! Thankfully Joy and Alec found the awful cake to be hilarious. When it tasted as bad as it looked, Joy told her dad and a friend to chuck it into the dumpster.

Finally, Joy hired Hope Perkins to turn one of their engagement photos into a painting. Joy gave that to Alec as a surprise gift on the wedding day.

What a fabulous wedding.
