I may have said it before, but one of the coolest parts of my job is watching families grow. I photographed Amy and Randy’s wedding back in April 2007. Later in 2007 I did a photo shoot of them with their dogs and Amy told me that they are they are trying to have a little one. Sure enough, I met Gus in December 2008 when he was just 2 weeks old! Even then he was a sweetie. So here we are, December 2009, and Gus just had his first birthday. He can almost walk, and he has the cutest, biggest, most infectious smile.

Amy and Randy. And now baby Gus. I was honored to photograph the couple’s engagement session and their wedding in 2007, and later that year I photographed a Holiday session with Amy and Randy and their dogs. Later in 2008 they gave birth to their long-awaited (and absolutely adorable!) son Gus and I was honored and happy to photograph him too. I love love love my job, and one of the best parts is watching my couples grow into families.

“We really enjoyed the photo shoot with Whitney because it was a
collaboration! She set up specific shots but she also was willing to do
things we requested, such as let both boys be photographed individually with
their own prop (guitar, hat). We had a formal shot set up for just Dan and
me, but Kevin is the kind of kid that can’t be left out so he came over and
joined us, and Whitney just kept shooting. Pretty soon our 15 year old had
to get in on the act too and what resulted are some of my favorite
spontaneous shots. Thanks, Whitney!”
