Hello. I’m writing today to introduce you to my friend Nicole. She has started a cake company called WICKED CAKES! How cool is that!

So I know Nicole because she is my ex-husband’s girlfriend! She is a sweetheart and I am glad to have her as a mother-figure in my son’s life. Is that TMI?

Our photographs of Erica and Raf’s Wedding are featured in the current issue of RARE magazine! Their ceremony and reception were both at The Terrace Club. Soooo cooooool!

Also, we’ll be at the Rare Weddings Bridal Show next Monday, February 16. I’m especially psyched about this one because the vendors are all super cool, plus there will be free champagne from Martini & Rossi, free bar from Tito’s Vodka, Sweet Leaf Tea and Maine Root, AND free food samples from some of Austin’s hottest restaurants and caterers. Plus their fashion show is sure to be jaw-dropping. I guess I’m excited for it because it’ll feel more like a party and less like an expo. Oh yes.

WeddingWire.com just announced that we have won the 2009 Bride’s Choice Award! Woo-hoo! We’re so proud!

In its inaugural year, the Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes and honors vendors from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility. This year’s recipients represent the top three percent of WeddingWire’s vendor community, which includes over 100,000 wedding vendors from across the US. That means Whitney Lee Photography is one of the very best photographers in the nation! How cool is that!

Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews.

Thank you to everyone that submitted entries to our offbeat bridal portrait contest! It has been a blast reading everyone’s creative ideas for unique shoots.

We are pleased to announce that the winner is Kaci of Austin, TX! Her idea involved a cathedral of junk, a victorian dress, and fairy wings. Need we say more? You’ll just have to keep checking back to see what we come up with as the result!

One last thing, if you submitted but weren’t a winner- please don’t let that discourage you from making your bridal ideas come true! The wedding industry would be a lot more interesting if all brides ate ice-cream, rode horses, went canoeing, etc. while wearing their gowns
