It was really fun to photograph Cari’s wedding shower! The tea party theme and the big fun hats were faaaaabulous. In addition to covering this event photojournalistic-style, I also set up a photo booth and took portraits of each of the guests. It was my first time in McKinney Texas and I dare say it was worth the drive from Austin.

One of my favorite things about going to weddings and rehearsals are the toasts. I LOVE hearing people talk about how much they love each other and reminisce about the past. I was excited to get to shoot Kati & Hilal’s rehearsal dinner- their friends and family were so happy and full of love and it really showed. I was thankful to have a camera in front of my face because I got teary eyed on more than one occasion.

I was beyond thrilled to find out that Rare Magazine chose one of my weddings to feature in their October issue! My first published work in a hip Austin reader.. not bad at all. I was also so happy that they were interested in Jenny and Stephanie’s wedding because it has personally been one of my favorites as well!

And if I haven’t mentioned it lately… I love what I do!

The time has come for me to make my debut on the Whitney Lee Photography blog! It’s been in the works for quite a while, and I’m glad it’s finally here. Ready for the name tag? Hello! My Name Is Amanda! I’ve been working with Whitney and Leah since June of 2008, and I started shooting my own weddings for WLP by that November.
I met Whitney when I hired her to photograph my wedding (see post below), and Whitney and Leah have become awesome friends of mine. Needless to say, I’m now happily married since February 7th of this year, and we’re expecting our first baby in early December! I love photography, and I love ‘LOVE’ so wedding photography is a perfect fit for me. Happy home life + happy career = happy me
For my first wedding on the blog I wanted to use something that hasn’t hit the internet yet and also is important because I started talking to this bride a while back…like when I first started accepting weddings. It took us a while to get her date nailed down, but about 10 or 11 months after our first email, we finally got her married!
Meet Zoe and Matt - married in Houston on June 28, 2009.
