“Photography is more than a medium for factual communication of ideas. It is a creative art.”
-Ansel Adams

Whitney Lee
Whitney Lee was first attracted to photography because of its lovely mix of technical concepts and artistic creativity. Years later, now that Whitney holds an honors bachelor’s degree in photography, has over 13 years of wedding photography experience, has photographed hundreds of weddings, and has had her work published in several wedding magazines, Whitney still loves the medium of photography. “I adore the qualities of beautiful light,” Whitney says, “when golden, soft light hits the subject in just the right way… and then at the perfect moment… I can’t describe how great it feels when time, light, and space line up beautifully and I get to click the shutter.”
Whitney gracefully blends her youth, experience and energy to produce images that manage to be both stylish and timeless. She approaches each wedding with an open mind, allowing her to capture the beauty that is unique to the event at hand rather than forcing a style or a timeline where it wasn’t meant to be.
“Wedding photography is so much deeper than simply documenting an event,” Whitney believes. “It is about being aware of the thoughts and feelings of the committed couple and their families and then capturing moments that can recall those feelings for lifetimes to come. It is about sensing the style, happiness and grace of the day and making images that not only document those qualities, but are themselves stylish, happy, and graceful.”
Amanda Pomilla Hagood
Amanda is a creative and happy photographer. Although she didn’t start out studying photography, she was always attracted to it. From the first tiny film camera she owned to her latest DSLR, Amanda has always been fascinated with combining technology and artistry to produce images that not only capture her subjects in the moment, but also captivate viewers for years to come.
Amanda is constantly looking for new and exciting ways to express herself while allowing the subject’s style and personality to shine through. She puts her love of photography and her passion for people into everything she does. “I love meeting new people who are in such a blissful and momentous place in their life when we start our relationship,” says Amanda. “Being allowed to help create their memories is an amazing honor that I absolutely cherish.”
In addition to being an animated photographer, Amanda is thrilled to be married to her wonderful husband, Anthony. They will welcome their first child this year. Amanda has been known to devote a lot of time to reading and working on creative writing. She’ll talk your ear off about crocheting and other crafts and will gladly join a game of tennis any day.
Erica Nix
Erica’s draw to photography was inspired by her obsession with people. As a photography student, she ate up work by Diane Arbus and Robert Frank, both documentary photographers known for capturing “humanity of the moment.” She loves the work of those photographers that is unplanned and candid, capturing moments and feelings that would otherwise go unnoticed. “I like to photograph like a fly on the wall. Of course my personality would seem to prove otherwise,” says Erica. She is an energetic and vibrant photographer who easily brings out the fun in any situation but also possesses the ability to move into the background in intimate times. Most of all, she loves getting people in action. “Posing people in stiff positions never works,” says Erica. “Getting them moving is where the good stuff happens.”
Erica has a BA in photography, has exhibited in several Texas galleries, and has worked as a wedding photographer for over 5 years. She is also proud of her community work teaching photography to at-risk youth, and her position as Secretary of the Malcolm C. Damuth Foundation, a non-profit committed to land preservation. “Community and people are my passion. I love using my camera to tell their stories.”
Jessica Attie
Jessica considers photographing weddings an honor and a great responsibility, not to mention a lot of fun! Over the last six years, she has worked hard to take beautiful and interesting photographs at countless weddings in the Austin area. Developing her style as a documentary photographer, Jessica strives to capture all of the beautiful moments of a wedding day - a tall order!
Jessica’s lifelong passion for photography led her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Photography from St. Edward’s University, a summer-long position at the Santa Fe Photography Workshops, and now full-time work doing what she loves most.
“Weddings are such a visual feast, full of beauty and activity. Families come together and children play. Beautiful moments are in abundance, and no two weddings are the same!” Jessica says. Then she adds, “I love my job!”
