Holly & Scott are from Arizona so we hadn’t had that much contact before the wedding besides the once when I met them for engagements. Even though I only got to be around this couple for a grand total of 7 hours, I can honestly say that their love is apparent and good moods contagious.

They chose the Umlauf Sculpture Gardens as their venue and it was my first time there. G-o-r-g-e-o-u-s. The weather was beautiful while the sun was up and heaters were put up outside when the sun bid farewell. Everything went smoothly from the sunset ceremony, to the photo booth they had set up for friends, to the hours of dancing.

I met Glory in 5th grade and had her over to my house for the first time to watch, “Harriet the Spy” shortly after. We wore matching over overalls, jumped on my neighbor’s trampoline frequently, and even rang in one New Years while dancing to Aerosmith in my living room. So yes, it’s safe to say that I’ve known Glory for quite some time.

So when she asked me to be her wedding photographer? I could not have been more thrilled. I get excited when anyone asks and trusts me to document their big day but when someone I’ve known for years and years pops the big question (if only they got down on one knee…) than I am over the moon ecstatic.

Glory and Kyle’s wedding was so! much! fun! and I am so glad that I got to be a part of their wedding day.

Joy and Alec… where do I even begin? Well, to state the obvious, they’re goofy and fun. And their wedding was chock full of pizazz. I shall make a list of all of the cool things about their day.

Let’s see, there was the kazoo fanfare that erupted during the ceremony after Joy and Alec’s first kiss as a married couple.

Then they also made a large banner similar to a half-time football player banner that read, “JUST MARRIED” for them to run through after getting back to the reception from the ceremony site. It was completely hysterical.

For table centerpieces they used children’s board games. The tables were covered in white butcher paper that Joy spray-painted through lace to make the paper look lacy. I used one of those tables and an extra “lace” tablecloth as a backdrop for some of the photos… I think it turned out well!

Then there was the cake. Joy and Alec are not big fans of cake, so it wasn’t that important to them. They found a craigslist ad by a person fresh from culinary school who said she’d make a three-layer cake that would serve 100 guests for $120. It looked absolutely horrid! Thankfully Joy and Alec found the awful cake to be hilarious. When it tasted as bad as it looked, Joy told her dad and a friend to chuck it into the dumpster. :)

Finally, Joy hired Hope Perkins to turn one of their engagement photos into a painting. Joy gave that to Alec as a surprise gift on the wedding day.

What a fabulous wedding.

Danielle and Brett got married on a “Tie the Knot Tuesday” amongst their closest friends and family. The reception took place at Mercury Hall and was followed by a scrumptious dinner at The Belmont. Their wedding absolutely celebrated them and their individuality as a couple which was a joy to be around.

Three things that stood out to me: Brett sang and played guitar to Paul Simon’s, “Me and Julio Down by The SchoolYard” as Danielle was walked down the aisle by her dad and best friend. I don’t know what it is about whistling, but when Brett pursed his lips together I just wanted to cry (happily, of course). I also don’t think that I’ve ever laughed so hard listening to people talk as I did in the bridal suite while Danielle got ready. If she was nervous, she wasn’t showing it and I loved that she was able to just have fun! And lastly, I think that you can tell from looking at the following pictures, Danielle and Brett are just extremely comfortable being themselves which in turn, made it extremely easy to capture their day.
